Let's get into the episode.
Hi friends, welcome back to another episode of The Good Chat's podcast it's ya gal Cass here. I have a really special episode to share with you and bringing to you a new segment called That's what she said. That's what she said is a deep dive into other podcasts finding out what their magic sauce is what we love how to replicate that and put our own spin on it and understand why people keep going back for more so today's episode is inspired by an event that I went to last week. The gorgeous the talented, Victoria Devine She's On The Money podcast.
She's on the money is the number one money podcast where Millennial Money expert Victoria Devine shares her foolproof tips to financial freedom. Victoria is a multi award winning financial advisor who is transforming the way Millennials think about money. With a background in behavioural psychology, her own financial advisory business, Zillow, and a chart topping podcast Victoria understands what makes her generation tick and she knows how to make hard to understand concepts fun, fresh and relatable. Victoria has been a guest speaker at events and featured in publications such as the financial standard, Vogue business chicks 9 to thrive, ABC News, RMIT future of financial planning, Mammamia, Elle Magazine, Yahoo Finance and many more. Holy crap. I don't know any person in Australia, that is a millennial that hasn't heard of Victoria Devine or the she's on the money podcast. And that is a very special and privileged place to be the community that they've grown on Instagram is 167,000 People.
From the podcast she's been able to have multiple sponsorships. There's been books there's been events, and today we're going to unpack it all. Victoria hosted sold out International Women's Day events in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth hosting incredible guest speakers inspiring change in women Hayleigh from Hali Helper and the girls go to work podcast and I went to the Melbourne International Women's Day event. And we had the pleasure of hearing from award winning speaker actor, author of best selling book content creator and powerful disability rights activist and advocate and star of one of my favourite Netflix shows Chloe Hayden, and Natalie Kyriacou. Oh am an award winning social entrepreneur, CEO, board advisor, public speaker, writer, and environmental social impact leader and all around bossass bitch. She honestly both of these women were absolutely incredible to hear from they were so insightful, so inspiring. And it made me leave wondering what impact I wanted to have on the world. And it really actually left me quite emotional through Chloe's talk. I think I cried maybe two or three times. And it was hosted by Victoria who also shared some beautiful words and spoke about a charity that she's a board member of. And it was just a great event. And it showed me that you can create this podcast as a product that people are paying hundreds of dollars to go to your event. They're listening weekly to your episodes in a studio, where you've got sponsorships I don't know what kind of sponsorships Victoria has for she's in the money. I couldn't find a lot of information about it.
But the day before the event I actually went to the IAB Audio Summit and Jonathan Kerr, the chief growth Officer of budget direct was talking about his work with the she's on the money podcast and budget direct one best campaign for all podcasts for their work crushes on the money Jonathan shared that you can't just show up and advertise the old way. You need to consider the listener and ask how can we add to it whether that be you know, rewarding them entertaining them and simply leaving someone with a smile on their face. So not only is Victoria creating this incredible community where people are going to her for advice on financial aspects in their life in their business. There's also People that are from another business sense from the sponsorship sense are looking at ways that they can help their own businesses by being a part of her world. And that's something that is super special.
So today, I am wanting to share all of this because it's important to understand how we recreate her impact. How do we understand what she's done and leave, being able to inspire ourselves to create that for ourselves and in our own way, and make it special for our own community. Now, if you haven't heard, Victoria also has two best selling books and has now released a budget journal as well. And she has helped 1000s of Australians take charge of their financial futures. There is honestly not one millennial that I know. And I know I keep saying this, but there's not one millennial that I know that doesn't know about either Victoria Devine or the she's on the money podcast. Now had a look at the stats. And at the time of this recording, she's on the money is ranked on Apple as number two in Australia for business and number 41. In Australia for all podcasts. That is incredible. on Spotify, the shoes on the money podcast is ranked as number three for business. And number 45, for top podcasts of all of the podcasts, the level of achievement that is is fucking incredible. And for it to be a business podcast, that is truly something that's so special.
And I'm not saying that you need to be the top podcast. But to create the impact on people that she has, is something that is super special, and it is something worth investigating, which is why I did the research today. So from what I can see, the podcast has 4.6 stars out of 4901 ratings. That is insane, almost 5000 People have jumped on to let her know that she's doing something special, and that they have felt what they needed to one of the reviews that was named filling the gap said, there is such a need for this content among young people, we don't get taught money management at school. So this kind of accessible, interesting and engaging content will be life changing. Another one said gonna say it Victoria Devine is truly divine. This podcast has been such a helpful tool in reaching a member of your community who has very limited access to financial knowledge, given my field of work, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge tips and insights, the skill of turning dull and dry topics that is financial literacy into a fun learning opportunity is much to be applauded, have been enjoying the banter from CO hosts also keep up the great work. So we know from those reviews that the impact is that they're learning. So it's educational. It's also inspirational, because they are getting something that they may have never got if they weren't listening to this podcast. And it's also entertaining because they're turning dry and dull topics into fun learning opportunities for people. And that is something that doesn't happen often. So in terms of recreating her impact, you want to look at the connection that you have with people, you want to understand what your audience needs, you want to be open to criticism and and have really good content that's going to help people convert and become a fan.
Now I'm had the pleasure of meeting Victoria. And I was gonna tell her all of the beautiful things about her podcast and how I think it's really been wonderful, but I didn't need to in that moment. I just thought what a beautiful human This is. Let me just enjoy her aura. Let me tell her how gorgeous her frickin dress is. Because it was she was just on point and really just enjoy as a consumer. In a podcast episode, I can't remember where I saw it. But Victoria said she's on the money wasn't successful because of the tech. It was because of the content. Because realistically, this podcast didn't start with a studio and the fanciest equipment on offer. This started as someone who had important things to share and was willing to share it. So Victoria has said herself you don't need a studio to get started. But you do need to have a good microphone. With the rise of podcasting in the last few years. Everyone knows what good and bad audio sounds like. So that's something that's super important because it's 2023. And we don't have time for bad audio. The lesson is you don't need to know all of the tech but you do need the fundamentals sorted and you do need to understand your audience how to connect with them and how to grow and really continue to understand the people that are listening to your podcast and what they want. So clearly she's been able to you know, foster these incredible relationships this incredible community and have sold out events in multiple Australian cities. She's just fucking nailing it. And this is a shout out to anyone that wants to be like her, understand your audience understand what they need. And building community can be so much fun. It's just an exchange of energy. It's not an exchange of goods and services. Victoria is putting out this podcast. And she has been for years as a free way that you can consume content from her. You can buy her books, you can go to her events. But she is so grateful for the people that are listening, the people that are tuning into our podcasts and helping her to make it what it is.
And you really, from a podcast point of view, you need to do that with your own community. So build a community that you're grateful for that you don't need something from and let that shine through. Because people want to come to people not for a sale, not for anything, but feeling like they belong. So understanding them and knowing what they need, will be so vital in helping your podcast grow. So in saying that, if there's anything that you want to hear about on this podcast, about podcasting, another episode, where I do a deep dive on someone's podcast, and you can tell me what you want to know out of it, how they're you know how their special sauce is working, let me know who you want me to have a deep dive of, and I'm happy to do so.
